This is the third time we have stopped here on a road trip. Each time the brisket has been pretty fatty and chewy. Will try asking for a lean cut next time. Ended the meal with blackberry cobbler. That is definitely worth returning for!
Flat out fantastic BBQ! The brisket is fabulous and the sausage terrific! I can't wait to come back! You can bring booze /beer and drink in the restaurant.
I own a small trucking business and while headed back to Houston from midland I decided to stop here at Coopers BBQ. Upon arrival I grew excited from the reviews and word of mouth from friends. I walked in Monday 9-18 @ 7:00pm. Soon as I walked in and approached the counter both clerks looked at me as if I had poop on my face, turned his back and continued to talk. I waited about a minute and one clerk asked how may he help me. I stated this is my first time here and I'm undecided because it all looks good. He looked at me as if I had poop on my face again and continued to finish his conversation. I placed my order as I watched him toss my bag of pickles and onions on the counter. $12. Another customer walks in (who looks different then I) and he had he best customer service. I don't want to play the race card but he forced my hand. Yes the food was good but the bad outweighed the good here and will NEVER stop here again.
OMG. Best BBQ in Texas. Don't pass Junction, TX without stopping to buy some Brisket. Pricey, but if you love the smoked taste of meats, you won't mind paying. Clean and friendly. I found the staff were polite, but there was a sense of being rushed through the line. You won't need sauce which is watery. It adds a bit of moisture, but the meat has all the flavor you need. I buy brisket to-go every time I'm there.
Was very disappointed I was expecting better tasting brisket. In fact, it tasted like boiled meat. Some parts were salty and some had no seasoning. My husband makes better brisket at home in our smoker. This restaurant doesn't even carry very many sides. And, what barbecue place doesn't even offer corn bread? Hopefully after reading the review they work on the menu and their cooking a little bit more. Restaurant is nice and clean.
