You can pay a hundred bucks and have a disappointing time, even in some Best Western Hotels -- but that will surely not be the case at the BW Dos Rios in Junction, Texas. I mean it, folks, I wish every hotel in the United States was as good as this hotel is. All the best to you!
My car broke down and I found myself needing to find hotel arrangements unexpectedly. The women at the front desk were so friendly and helpful and sensitive to the difficult situation I was in. The room was clean and comfortable and I thought it was a good value for the rate. It was convenient that this location has laundry facilities available for guests to use and great that they are pet friendly.
Had a great experience at this Best Western! Stayed one night on the way to my destination and decided to stay there on the way back ~ which was the same day I checked out! I always have PB&J sandwiches with me when traveling. I had forgotten them at home in AZ and I asked Jackie (breakfast area) if I could make a couple. She said of course and then brought me plastic sandwich bags to put them in ~ so nice! Monica (front desk) was there both times and was super friendly and helpful. My room was clean and the bed was excellent. The breakfast was yummy and the coffee was HOT and great! I love hot coffee! I started my day off right! Both times! Thanks everyone at the Junction, TX, Best Western. Keep up the good work! I will definitely stop there again if I'm in the area!
The Dos Rios Best Western in Junction, Texas is an EXCELLENT place to stay after a long, hard drive. I have rarely seen a hotel so well laid-out, maintained, or guest-friendly as this hotel is -- even at three times the price. Carly or one of the other managers take you right in, get you squared-away, and make you welcome, comfortable and happy, no matter how grueling a day you've had on the road.
The room's refrigerator and air conditioner work perfectly (a real plus in the heat of Texas). There's lots of ROOM, and a closed-door closet for your hanging clothes. The bathroom is nice and spacious. The room has a comfortable chair and ottoman, and the bed is very comfortable with lots of pillows. The TV was perfect and actually easy to navigate (unlike many I've seen).
Friendly and helpful desk staff. Rooms seemed clean. Hot breakfast (eggs, sausage, waffles, biscuits, gravy) plus the usual bagels and such. Good number of crickets around outside, but none in the room. Knocking off one star because our room had a smell - not a gagging one, but a strong one that wasn't particularly pleasant. The front desk said it was from the AC being on low all day; we turned it up to high, to no effect. Has pool and laundry room.
And just wait until you go in to eat breakfast in the morning! The coffee is very good, and the food is very enjoyable, it's nice and hot, and there's plenty of it, too. From yogurt to an egg omelet, you will be delighted. The sausage was one of the very best breakfast sausage patties I've ever had, and I've had quite a few.
What a delightful surprise this place was. Don't let the older exterior fool you. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. You could just tell by the well manicured grounds, front entry, and breakfast area that these folks really take great pride in their work and property. Beyond that, the staff (Especially Carly) get 5 stars for their gracious warm welcome and outstanding customer service. You will NOT be disappointed in this wonderful little hideaway.
